Digital Waste Tracking · 1 October 2026

    Still doing the job twice?

Paper note at the gate, then the same load typed into DEFRA later. Wastrio does both from one record. Log the load once, the transfer note gets signed and stored, and the receipt report goes to DEFRA.

Software compatible with Digital Waste Tracking, Report Receipt of Waste.

    How it works

    How a load works

    1. The load comes in and gets logged at the gate or the weighbridge.

    2. The customer signs on the screen, or later from a link if they weren't there.

    3. The note's stored, the report's sent. One record, no keying it in again on Friday afternoon.

    Questions

    Straight answers

Do I have to buy software? No. DEFRA has a free spreadsheet and it works. Software's for when the time it takes is better spent on the yard.

How long to get going? If you've already got your API code from DEFRA, under an hour. If you haven't, we'll help you register.

Does it work with no signal? Not yet. You'll need a data connection where loads get logged. We'll check that with you before you go live.

Do paper notes go away? No. Paper transfer notes aren't banned. Wastrio just means you're not writing the same load out twice.
